Indie Underground is an East London based music blog for new upcoming artists, mainly focused on post punk, indie rock, and scatty psych rock music. The site was founded by 21 year old Sahera Walker in 2016. Sahera also runs Some Might Say, a physical print magazine with a focus on not just music, but also art, illustrations, and photography. Some Might Say have released five sell-out issues, and it was through running the zine’s launch party that Sahera fell in love with the live side of the music industry
She now works as Events Manager for Werkhaus London, easily the coolest new DIY space in East London. She books live artists and DJs, and also runs a monthly independent record label and magazine fair. Since being at Werkhaus, she has hosted the venue’s first ever in-house sell out gig, and has so far booked over 80 artists to play for her
Her work has gained notable attention from a variety of large names, including So Young Magazine, Rough Trade East, BBC Radio 6, Paradigm Agency, Jägermeister, Flying Vinyl, and so on. She is always looking for exciting new people to work with, and the more avant-garde and unique, the better. As a blog, our emails are always open, and we would love to hear from you!
